Sean McCollough is a performer, teacher and radio host who brings his experience as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and musicologist into schools and other venues. He offers both concerts and residencies for grades Pre-K through 12. His programs include:

Sean has been entertaining and educating families and school groups with his energetic shows since the mid 90s. He has been compared to Pete Seeger and John McCutcheon for his use of traditional music and ...        > Read morestorytelling as well as his charismatic performances. He plays the guitar, banjo and mandolin and draws heavily on the music of the Appalachian Mountains. He mixes world music, original songs, and other contemporary sounds into his performances that are built around audience participation. He recently released an album of sixteen songs for children and families entitled "This Is Our House."

Sean also currently plays with two different groups, The Lonetones and The John Myers Band. He is also in the band for the play "Between a Ballad and a Blues," a production of Carpetbag Theatre. Remaining very active as a professional musician, he presents workshops and does residencies in schools, gives lectures at museums and conferences, and teaches musicology at the The University of Tennessee.
